Why obey the Holy Spirit even when it doesn't make sense?

You’ve likely heard a thought and dismissed it as your imagination. Prompts from God often arrive as ordinary things — a sudden name, a tune, or a picture in your head. Those ordinary nudges can become extraordinary pivots. Obedience matters. When we stop assuming we need dramatic thunderbolts before we act, we begin to notice the Spirit’s small, steady voice.

Once, a woman saw a car beside her at a light. She watched the driver beating her steering wheel in despair and the Spirit said, “follow that car.” The impulse felt odd — impractical even — but she obeyed. She followed, ran after the woman, and heard the words, “catch her. Do not let her go into the house.” She found a woman with a black eye who had planned to overdose. Because someone obeyed, that woman was brought to coffee, sobered up, and later gave her life to the Lord. That wasn’t happenstance; it was a Holy Spirit appointment.
